Background of the Study
The introduction of e-taxation platforms is a significant step towards improving tax administration by making tax filing and payment easier, faster, and more efficient. In Geidam LGA, the adoption of e-taxation platforms has been promoted as a way to increase tax compliance, reduce administrative costs, and increase transparency. These platforms enable taxpayers to file returns, make payments, and track their tax obligations electronically. However, the level of adoption and challenges associated with the implementation of these platforms in Geidam LGA have yet to be fully explored.

E-taxation platforms are expected to enhance government revenue generation by streamlining tax collection processes. However, understanding the factors influencing adoption and usage is critical to maximizing the benefits of e-taxation in Geidam LGA.

Statement of the Problem
While e-taxation platforms are available in Geidam LGA, their adoption rate and effectiveness in improving tax compliance remain unclear. Challenges such as low digital literacy, lack of infrastructure, and insufficient awareness may hinder the successful implementation of these platforms.

Aim and Objectives of the Study

  • To assess the level of adoption of e-taxation platforms in Geidam LGA.

  • To identify factors influencing the adoption and usage of e-taxation platforms.

  • To recommend strategies for improving the adoption and usage of e-taxation platforms in Geidam LGA.

Research Questions

  1. What is the level of adoption of e-taxation platforms in Geidam LGA?

  2. What factors influence the adoption and usage of e-taxation platforms?

  3. What strategies can improve the adoption and effectiveness of e-taxation platforms in Geidam LGA?

Research Hypotheses

  1. E-taxation platforms significantly increase tax compliance in Geidam LGA.

  2. Factors such as digital literacy and infrastructure significantly influence the adoption of e-taxation platforms.

  3. Proposed strategies significantly improve the adoption and effectiveness of e-taxation platforms in Geidam LGA.

Significance of the Study
This study will provide valuable insights into the adoption of e-taxation platforms in Geidam LGA, helping policymakers and tax authorities optimize the platforms to enhance tax compliance and revenue generation.

Scope and Limitation of the Study
The study focuses on e-taxation platforms in Geidam LGA. Limitations include the potential for biases in self-reported data from taxpayers and challenges related to internet connectivity and digital infrastructure.
